With just a few weeks remaining until the November 5, 2024 election, when Kamala Harris will face Donald Trump at the ballot box, the nation is bracing for a pivotal decision that will shape its future. An election that, if Donald Trump were to win, and if the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 is to be believed, could see American democracy threatened by an unprecedented authoritarian drift.
From economic recovery and healthcare under Harris to Trump’s promise of nationalism and stricter immigration policies, which future will Americans choose for their country? This election’s outcome could reshape America’s global role and its relationships with allies. Could it also challenge the balance between democracy and rising concerns over authoritarianism?
